Mid-Century Modern

From 1941-1959, Tule Springs Ranch in Las Vegas, Nevada was a working cattle ranch, alfalfa farm, and guest quarters for people who would travel to the state to take advantage of lenient divorce laws.  The City recently decided to restore the Foreman’s House to it’s period of significance for use as a House Museum and Visitor’s Center, and needed assistance in determining the historic character of the property.

Under contract with the City of Las Vegas, Volz & Associates, Inc. teamed with cultural resource management firm HHM to conduct archival and field investigations at Tule Springs.  Using that information, Candace Volz prepared a period-appropriate Furnishing Plan, including recommendations for restored or in-kind replacement of the finishes, fixtures, and furnishings used in the Foreman's House.  The City, serving as Architect of Record, is in the process of carrying out her recommendations.
