A Great Landmark

of Texas

The Texas Governor’s Mansion is a beautiful two-story Greek Revival home constructed from 1854 to 1856 by master builder Abner Cook.  A historic carriage house, gazebo, arbor, and landscaping frame the site.

Volz & Associates, Inc. has served as the historical architect for all construction at the Mansion from 1995-2009.  We are currently developing a Historic Structure Report for the Mansion and serving as local preservation consultants to the architectural firm of Ford, Powell & Carson for the restoration.
