Landmark in Peril


This 1848 plantation home was built by Levi and Sarah Jordan and their twelve slaves.  The plantation quickly became one of the largest sugar and cotton plantations in the region.  The property is a State Historical Site that was transferred to the custody of the Texas Historical Commission in 2007.


Volz & Associates, Inc. was recently hired to develop plans to stabilize and restore this historic resource.
