Battle Hall was designed by acclaimed architect Cass Gilbert of New York in 1910.  It was the first building on campus to utilize the Spanish Renaissance architectural style that now fully defines the character of the university.  It was recognized as one of 150 favorite buildings in the United States by the American Institute of Architects in 2007.
